Introducing
Ethiopia Abdo
Ethiopia Abdo Abamecha
Some cups announce themselves. This one unfolds. Elderflower cider, yellow plum, and pink muscat, each note arriving slowly, exactly as nature intended.
Abdo Abamecha cultivates over 30 hectares of prime coffee-growing land in Limu, Jimma Zone, working alongside more than 200 smallholder farmers beneath a dense forest canopy at 1,900 to 2,100 metres above sea level. Shade, volcanic soil, and a living ecosystem do what no processing technique can replicate.
His natural process follows the same principle: only the ripest cherries, hand-selected and dried whole on raised beds, slowly and without intervention. The cherry is the process. There is no washing stage to correct mistakes, which means every decision made in the field shows up directly in the cup.
As a member of the Tokuma Group, a collective of smallholder farmers in Western Ethiopia who grow, process, and export their coffee directly, Abdo brings full traceability back to his farm and more money staying with the people who do the work.
This is what coffee looks like when the farmer owns the story.
